Tell Your Elected Officials – “No White Supremacist in the White House”

Regardless of who you voted for, if you value equality for all, having Stephen Bannon in the White House — a notorious Alt Right instigator — on the taxpayer’s dime should outrage you.  Being part of #TheResistance doesn’t mean standing down from normal political advocacy.  One thing you can do to influence leaders to stand for ALL citizens is call your senators and representatives and request that they make a public statement about Bannon’s appointment as President-elect Trump’s chief strategist and senior counselor.

Just search “contact elected official’s name” and you will get their page with various offices’ phone numbers. As various former staffers have noted, a phone call gets the most attention, even if you have to leave a voice mail.

If you’re worried about what to say, here’s a template:

“I’m (Name), a constituent from (Zip Code). I’m calling to request (“Senator X”) make a public statement opposing Steve Bannon’s role in the Trump administration. It is unacceptable that someone who has been responsible for hatred against so many communities is being appointed to President-Elect Trump’s White House. Please ask (Official) to stand up against this. Thank you.”

This is not hard and it’s a concrete step you can take today.
